Hepatobiliary medicine is that concerned with the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and bile. The Hepatobiliary Associate Physician would be responsible for the diagnosis, care, and treatment of their patients. This person must be able to handle multiple priorities at once and be able to make urgent decisions under pressure. This physician performs aspirates, biopsies, and other related tests and special procedures. They prescribe and administer medications and treatments. They develop and participate in educational programs for their department. They communicate between the lead physician on the case and the patient.
