An Oncology Nurse cares for patients suffering from different forms of cancer, typically those that are critically ill or chronically ill. An Oncology Nurse may work in a variety of areas, including surgical oncology, gynecologic oncology, radiation oncology, pediatric oncology, and general medical oncology. Typical duties include: administering chemotherapy, implementing new methods of symptom treatment, pre-chemotherapy screening, fatigue management, and assessment of patient’s physical and emotional state. The Oncology Nurse’s biggest role concerns the nurse-patient relationship and ensuring that the patient is fully educated on the disease, treatment, and recovery options.



  • Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing
  • Current registered nursing license from country of professional practice
  • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience as a Registered Nurse, two (2) years of which spent in Oncology
